Dr. Kezhen Zhang ( 張克鎮) is the owner/head and chief physician at Tai Ji Tang TCM Hospital (北京泰濟堂中醫醫院), in Beijing, China. He is a well-respected Master and innovator in the Traditional Chinese Medicine field. He invented the Yuan Tong acupuncture method after spending years experimenting on his own body and he also adapted the Chi Fu diagnostic method in the Nei Jing. He and his team of experts have successfully treated many difficult cases that major hospitals in China have given up on. He is the author of multiple books about the etiology of disease and his own Theory of Physiological Spaces, which revolutionized his own approach to treatments. Dr. Zhang has been interviewed by the official television stations and other media outlets in China and is widely considered one of the leaders in the field, with patients traveling the expanse of China or even the world to see him.
Sze met Dr. Zhang during his first visit to the United States, during which he visited many hospitals and institutions, including Harvard University and UCSF. As an experienced professional translator, Sze translated for Dr. Zhang, and now she also serves as his English interpreter and travels with him to workshops and presentations in the US. On the Articles/News page, she will post articles by Dr. Zhang that were translated by her.
Aside from learning from Dr. Zhang during his visits to the United States, Sze also travels to China to apprentice with Dr. Zhang at his hospital. She is enriched by the patient-centric philosophy practiced at Tai Ji Tang and the innovative medical model that is based in Traditional Chinese Medicine but is a mutually complimentary system to Western Medicine. She hopes to bring that system of thought and practice, as well as the acupuncture techniques, back to the US for the benefit of her patients and the TCM field in the US.
